I moved in a little ways up the street from this apartment complex a month ago. Since then, there have been homeless camped outside the complex. They are there every morning, and (I assume) every night. Trash is consistently strewn about the sidewalk and the complex's grass. Overall, the place looks exceptionally trashy.
Sandy police say that all they will do is give a 'move-along' to the homeless unless the apartment management/residents call in. Evidently, they don't care to.
Edit (07/23/2021): I called the apartment complex per their request on 07/19/2021. They did not answer and never called me back. The homeless situation remains unchanged.
Edit (07/24/2021): I spoke with the apartment manager, who was very congenial and helpful. It seems like the Sandy police are the issue here. She has asked them to trespass the homeless many times but if they have done so it is not evident...and they refuse to do anything on their patrols. Which means that the homeless arrive in the evening after managers have left the complex and if the police see the homeless during those off-hours they do nothing. Despite previous requests from management. It seems they want each incident called in specifically, which is difficult if they occur during non-business hours.
Heaven forbid the police do anything useful of their own initiative.
I'm bumping this review a few stars because it seems management has been trying to fix this issue. Will remove it if the situation gets resolved. Hopefully Sandy police get their act together. 'Tis a dim hope.
